John Deere Days

The weekend of Aug. 8, we went up to Tiffin to visit Grandma and Grandpa Crumrine and Kibbie and to go to John Deere Days! This is a free event, open to the public that the local John Deere dealer puts on each year. You can climb on and in all sorts of tractors and they have a really good free lunch.

Matthew seemed to like tractors, especially all the buttons and levers.

Katelyn liked this one too...

...until she saw a bigger one. "That one Daddy!"

This one was more her style. Dad was thinking about how fast he could get the lawn mowed.

Little girl in a big wheel.

This one was really big!
They also had free pony rides. She enjoyed this more than her expression lets on.
Back at Grandma and Grandpa's, she took Kibbie for a few walks,
and peddled around the driveway.
Matthew played, and did some swinging.
Saturday night, Grandma bravely (yet happily) volunteered to watch both kids while Grandpa, Dad and I went to the Summer Harvest Gourmet Gala sponsoring the Franciscan Earth Literacy Center. It was 10 tents of gourmet food prepared by top local chefs using fresh produce grown at the Earth Literacy Center and three tents of regional wine to test too. It was an excellent event. http://sfctiffin.org/gala/ If you're in Tiffin next year on Aug. 13, consider going. Hopefully it coincides with John Deere Days again!
