Katelyn's Art

We had gotten these wikisticks for Christmas, but Katelyn didn't really 'get' them until today. It's also something I keep tucked away for rainy days and days I need them out of the kitchen. I opened the box originally to keep Matthew entertained. (There are pipe cleaners, or chenille flexible sticks that they call them these days, and puffs in there too.) He spread those all over, then went up to nap. Katelyn was quiet and engrossed in them for almost a full hour after. It was wonderful! She's making a wiki-sticky-fish here:

She continued art with the pipe cleaners and puffs. Here are some of her creations:

Another view, suitable for framing.

There is also considerable debris all over the floor, but that's fine with me. I made lunch, with pasta salad that'll go for lunches this week, tuna for lunches this week, beef and barley stew for lunch and freezer for later, 3 meatloafs to cook for dinner with 2 headed to the freezer. And we'll still probably be out of food by Thursday...when I'll whip up Zataran's jambalaya with turkey sausage, shrimp and corn bread. Weeks go better with planning.

You are amazing and so organized! I remember the crock pot used to be my best friend for dinners.

You sure got a lot of cooking done in a short amount of time. Guess you learn to do that when you have "NO" time!
