July 4th, Dancing Bunnies and Corn

Somehow I missed July 4th and nearby dates. I think it was the weekend after, we went to the dancing bunnies park in Dublin. Here are the bunny statues. They have strange things embedded in them, gears, mannequin hands, wrenches, gears, coins and on and one. While thought provoking, I think I prefer them from a distance as just bunnies. Matt liked to throw the stones that surrounded them.

Before we went to see the sculpture, we played in the water down below.

Matt took a measured approach.

Katelyn ran right in.

Their personalities in action. You'll see Katelyn run by near the end too.

My parents came down one Friday night so we could take Grandpa C. to a Clippers baseball game for a late Father's Day present. Grandma C. was kind enough to stay home with Matt, but Chris, Katelyn, Grandpa and I had a great time. Chris and Grandpa enjoyed the game- lots of hits and many previous Indians there. Katelyn enjoyed the bounce house and ice cream. I enjoyed seeing everyone have a good time. The next morning we went to a metro park that had this beautiful waterfall not 5 min from a major street.

Then we went to a park by the river. Matt would not stop throwing rocks to the ducks. They thought it was food so swam straight toward it every time. He loved it.
July shutdown for Chris brought this. Pretty nice, eh. Never would have guessed it's our new garage floor, would you? It's a bunch of paint and layers with flecks and also involved powerwashing, and sealing and other things that took 5 days. Very, very nice. Chris has unique ways of spending his time away from work.
Like building new steps too. The previous owner's dog had chewed them. I just tolerated them, but apparently, they really bothered Chis. Thus, new, nicely stained steps. And no trace of dog smell in our garage anymore either.

Every now and then, they sit still. Chris is teaching Matt how to read the sports section here.

Oh yea, and there was the 4th of July too. Katelyn likes smores.
We had a great view of the fireworks from our back yard. Matt slept through them and Katelyn likes smores. : )

Matt likes corn on the cob.

It's a bird? It's a plane? No it's just Katelyn at the water park... ;)
