Tuesday - To the City

We took the Shoreline train into Chicago Tuesday.  You can tell by the following pic how excited Matt was with his first real train ride.
We got off at the Museum Campus and walked over to the Shedd Aquarium.  We got the total experience pass which got us access to all exhibits, a 4D movie and the dolphin show.

At the dolphin show.

At the 4D movie.  We chose Dora and Diego take on the Robot Butterfly (or a title close to that).  It was funny to see the kids reaching out to try to grab the butterfly as it seemed to fly right in front of them.  Wind, bubbles and some water spray added that 4th dimension and additional fun.
Special exhibit was Jellies, a detailed look into jelly fish.  I learned that a group of jelly fish are called a 'smack' and other fun stuff.  Who knew such a simple organizim would be so facinating.  Facinating to watch too.  I could have stared for at least 15 min.  Instead, I was granted 15 second glimpses b/t chasing kids.  Katelyn said this was her favorite part...aside from eating lunch there.  (sigh...although it was a good lunch with a great view of the lake Michigan.)
Shark exhibit.  Garh!
Riding the turtles.
We had a fun day and another super exciting train ride home. :)   Luckily some younger, blue collar type workers on their way home were kind enough to give us their seats.  Don't know who they are, but we really appreciated it.
And went out to dinner on the way back to the house.  Katelyn has super red lips due to a strawberry italian ice on the way back to train.  Oh, and it was hot, hence Matt sweating all over me.  Who cares, it was a good day!
